About the Scholarship

About Mike

Michael Williams, or as many called him, Mikey, was a truly special person that made an impact on everyone he ever came in contact with. He cared about others immensely in a deep and personal way. Mikey always went out of his way to help friends, strangers and anyone that could use a hand. Mikey was incredibly bright, with an education from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and an MBA from Quinnipiac University. Mikey was well rounded in his abilities as he was equally artistic and musical. Many of us who went to college with him have fond memories of him playing music on his acoustic guitar, flip flops no matter what the temperature and frayed Abercrombie & Fitch jeans. Mikey also painted some incredible pictures just from his thoughts, dreams and inspirations. You will see some on this site. His mother Carol proudly displays them in a converted bedroom which is now affectionately named “Mike’s Gallery”.

Mike loved music, the beach, sports, business, art, animals, learning about others and most of all his Mother. Our goal with the Michael Williams Scholarship is to memorialize his life in a new student each year. Each year we want to find a new way to keep his spirit and personality alive through a well rounded senior at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.

Mikey grew up near the beach, surfing, playing sports and being around friends and family. He loved where he lived, both Rumson and Sea Bright were areas he took a lot of pride in and always wanted to see improve. We plan to select and award a scholarship to a new student each year that embodies the same characteristics that made Mike so loved by all.

Help us grow this scholarship each year and help us extend Mike’s legacy into the next generation.
